Description
ELSA combines a warm walnut cabinet with a distinctive brick-patterned front, creating a record player that looks as considered as the furniture around it. Behind the design are a counterweighted tonearm, four speakers and a built-in phono preamp.
Adjustable tonearm control
The counterweight lets you set the correct tracking force for stable groove contact and reduced record wear. This is the kind of adjustment normally associated with separate hi-fi turntables, built into an easy all-in-one system.
Four-speaker sound
Four integrated speakers provide immediate, room-filling playback without an external amplifier. Automatic stop halts the platter at the end of a side, helping protect both the record and stylus during everyday use.
Built-in phono preamp
The onboard preamp makes external connections straightforward when you decide to use powered speakers or a larger sound system. Bluetooth also lets you stream music from a phone through ELSA’s speakers between records.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy anything else to play my records?
No. ELSA has four built-in speakers, so it plays your records on its own. Plug it in, put a record on and lower the arm.
Can I connect it to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones?
No. On ELSA, Bluetooth works the other way round: it receives music from your phone and plays it through the built-in speakers. To play your records through other speakers, use the RCA output with the cable supplied.
Can I plug it into my hi-fi, powered speakers or soundbar?
Yes, through the RCA output, with the cable supplied. A switch selects the signal: LINE for an AUX or LINE IN input (powered speakers, most amplifiers), PHONO for an amplifier with a PHONO input. A soundbar only works if it has an analogue input (AUX or RCA). Not sure? Tell us what you already own on the Contact page and we will check before you order.
Is there anything to set up before the first record?
Very little. The cartridge is already fitted and the tracking force is factory-set to 3.5 g. The arm has an adjustable counterweight: the instructions in the box show how to check it before your first record.
Does it stop by itself at the end of a record?
Yes. The platter stops three minutes after the record ends. You lift the arm and return it to its rest by hand.
Which records can it play?
12-inch LPs, 7-inch singles and 10-inch records, at 33 and 45 rpm. It does not play 78 rpm records.
What sound should I expect?
Four built-in speakers, two for bass and two for treble, with 50 W in total (2 × 15 W + 2 × 10 W). The cartridge is an Audio-Technica AT-3600L moving-magnet type, on a die-cast aluminium platter with belt drive. If you want a bigger sound later, the RCA output connects ELSA to an amplifier or powered speakers.
Will it damage my records?
No. ELSA plays your records without damaging them: its moving-magnet cartridge tracks at 3.5 g, set at the factory. Keep your records and the stylus free of dust, and replace the stylus when it wears: a worn stylus is what marks a record.
Can the stylus be replaced?
Yes. ELSA uses an Audio-Technica AT-3600L cartridge; its replacement stylus is the ATN3600L, which is widely available.

When will I receive it, and what does delivery cost?
Delivery is free in the United Kingdom. Orders leave within 24 to 48 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays) and then take 5 to 8 working days to arrive: allow 6 to 10 working days in total. You receive a tracking number as soon as your parcel is dispatched.
What if it does not suit me, or arrives faulty?
You have 14 days from delivery to ask for an exchange or a refund. If it arrives damaged or develops a fault, message us from the Contact page with your order number: every Bireka record player is covered by a two-year warranty.
