Description
NERA is an all-in-one record player finished in deep walnut. Its restrained design houses four built-in speakers, a belt-drive mechanism and an Audio-Technica cartridge, giving you a complete listening system in one cabinet.
Fuller sound without separate speakers
Four integrated speakers provide greater scale and balance than a conventional compact player. You can fill the room without adding an amplifier, speaker cables or extra boxes.
Reliable groove tracking
The Audio-Technica cartridge follows the groove with clarity and consistency. Belt drive helps isolate the platter from motor vibration, keeping playback stable and reducing unwanted background noise.
Music beyond vinyl
Bluetooth lets you stream music from a phone or tablet through NERA’s speaker system. It remains useful throughout the day, even when you are not playing a record.
With its dark-walnut finish and self-contained design, NERA suits listeners who want better vinyl sound while keeping their room simple and uncluttered.
What our customers say
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to buy anything else to play my records?
No. NERA has four built-in speakers, so it plays your records on its own. Plug it in, put a record on and lower the arm.
Can I connect it to a Bluetooth speaker or headphones?
No. On NERA, Bluetooth works the other way round: it receives music from your phone and plays it through the built-in speakers. To play your records through other speakers, use the RCA output with the cable supplied.
Can I plug it into my hi-fi, powered speakers or soundbar?
Yes, through the RCA output, with the cable supplied. A switch selects the signal: LINE for an AUX or LINE IN input (powered speakers, most amplifiers), PHONO for an amplifier with a PHONO input. A soundbar only works if it has an analogue input (AUX or RCA). Not sure? Tell us what you already own on the Contact page and we will check before you order.
Is there anything to set up before the first record?
A few minutes. The cartridge is already fitted; you set the counterweight on the arm by following the instructions in the box (tracking force between 2.5 and 4.5 g).
Does it stop by itself at the end of a record?
Yes. The platter stops turning once the record has finished.
Which records can it play?
12-inch LPs, 7-inch singles and 10-inch records, at 33 and 45 rpm. It does not play 78 rpm records.
What sound should I expect?
Four built-in speakers: two silk-dome tweeters and two mid/bass drivers. The cartridge is an Audio-Technica AT-3600L moving-magnet type, on an aluminium platter with belt drive. If you want a bigger sound later, the RCA output connects NERA to an amplifier or powered speakers.
Will it damage my records?
No. NERA plays your records without damaging them: its moving-magnet cartridge sits on an arm with an adjustable counterweight, which you set once by following the instructions. Keep your records and the stylus free of dust, and replace the stylus when it wears: a worn stylus is what marks a record.
Can the stylus be replaced?
Yes. NERA uses an Audio-Technica AT-3600L cartridge; its replacement stylus is the ATN3600L, which is widely available.
What is in the box?
The NERA record player with its cartridge fitted, its clear dust cover, an RCA cable and the 12 V power supply.
How is NERA different from the other Bireka record players?
NERA has our largest cabinet (43 × 35 × 17 cm), four speakers including two silk-dome tweeters, an Audio-Technica cartridge and a USB port to copy your records to a computer. VERA is the same design in a lighter walnut. Not sure which one suits you? Tell us what you already own on the Contact page and we will point you to the right model.
When will I receive it, and what does delivery cost?
Delivery is free in the United Kingdom. Orders leave within 24 to 48 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays) and then take 5 to 8 working days to arrive: allow 6 to 10 working days in total. You receive a tracking number as soon as your parcel is dispatched.
What if it does not suit me, or arrives faulty?
You have 14 days from delivery to ask for an exchange or a refund. If it arrives damaged or develops a fault, message us from the Contact page with your order number: every Bireka record player is covered by a two-year warranty.
